International Trade Fair for Food and Drink Technology
Approximately 39,000 trade visitors from 146 countries (35,000 visitors from 130 countries in 2003) attended the fourth Anuga FoodTec, an increase of 13 per Cent on the previous event. The proportion of visitors from abroad also rose slightly, up by two per cent to 55 per cent.
Alongside experts from the EU countries, the trade fair primarily attracted more trade visitors from the growing markets of eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North and South America. The substantial numbers of foreign visitos confirm the significance of Anuga FoodTec as an international trading hub.
Anuga FoodTec once again also showed slight growth in the number of exhibitors. An increased area of around 100,000 mē was occupied by 1,178 participating exhibitors from 45 countries (1,125 exhibitors from 44 countries in 2003) from 4th to 7th April 2006. Of these, 560 companies came from outside Germany.
With its cross-over approach, Anuga FoodTec is the only process-oriented trade fair in the world to cover all types of raw materials and aspects of processing, packaging, hygiene, storage and distribution in food and drinks industry. Diverse technical innovations are demonstrated in new contexts, so that solutions and technologies that were originally not developed for a particular sector can become applicable elsewhere.
Anuga FoodTec is jointly organised by Koelnmesse GmbH and the DLG (German Agriculture Society). It takes place every three years, corresponding to the innvoation cycle within the sector. The next Anuga FoodTec will be held from 10th to 13th March 2009.
